Bootcamp FIWARE Expert

FIWARE is an open-source initiative aimed at fostering the development and management of smart, connected applications. It is built on open standards and cutting-edge technologies. This course is designed to provide attendees with advanced knowledge of FIWARE technology while also allowing them to take the official FIWARE Expert certification exam free of charge on the final day (Although it is not required to take it in order to participate on the course). This course has been designed by the FIWARE Foundation in collaboration with La Vega Innova.
The final session offers the opportunity to take the FIWARE Expert exam in person.

Throughout the program, you will explore core topics like Smart Data Models, NGSI-LD, IoT integration, data persistence, visualization tools, and security mechanisms within FIWARE. You’ll gain experience connecting real devices, managing context data, building custom IoT Agents, and creating dashboards using tools like WireCloud and Grafana.

The Bootcamp also introduces advanced topics such as machine learning, stream processing, robotics integration, and Data Spaces, helping you understand the broader potential of FIWARE technologies.

The final session offers the opportunity to take the FIWARE Expert exam in person.

Bootcamp Access Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge of FIWARE at the User level
  • General knowledge of software architecture
  • Basic knowledge and management of Databases
  • Basic knowledge of Data Models
  • Proficient use of GitHub
  • Proficient use of Docker

Recommended Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of infrastructure and REST API usage
  • Familiarity with basic FIWARE components:
    • Orion Context Broker
    • IoTAgent
    • Cygnus
    • Quantumleap
    • NGS)
  • Knowledge of JSON and Linked Data
  • Experience in developing a project interacting with FIWARE platforms

Remember: If you wish to take the exam at the end of the training, you will also need to present a FIWARE Body of Work*.

*Body of Work: curated collection to demonstrate the basic competence of the participant with FIWARE technologies. This portfolio serves as the foundation for evaluation in a certification or review process that can be as simple as a couple of slides with bullet points.
